From Crowder Camp I take the Pine Ridge all the way down to Warden's Field and go swimming in Citico Creek by the low water bridge. So ends Trip 48.
JOURNAL TRIP 48
The midnight hour catches the sky in a star mode so the rain will be gone for awhile. Today I will run the gauntlet along Rattlesnake Road and go slow enough to keep my eyes open and my butt clenched. Ok, at 6 am I am up and moving around enough to be considered mobile and ready for another day of backpacking. I hope to follow the Pine Ridge trail down to the Citico creek where I will either board the Belltown school bus or loop around to Johnny's Hole for another swim and another night out.
All my gear has worked well on this trip and the tent especially is a fine item offering me a roomy light shelter of dryness in a sometimes wet world. I used everything I brought with the possible exception of the fleece sweater though I used it as a pillow due to its softness.
I left Crowders and passed the home of Mister Snake and hit the long downhill of the Pine Ridge trail with these sections from top to bottom:
** upper piney part
** spring hole
** oak arms
** pretty spot
** rest stop
** indian tree
I finally made it down to the Citico where I immediately bathed and noticed one group of campers and their big dome tent. It was time to finish the trip and drive home.
SO ENDETH TRIP 48
